HALF DAY TOUR OF ATHENS

Sightseeing of the city’s principal modern and classical buildings. Among them are the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the Parliament, the Panathenaic Stadium (site of the first modern Olympic Games in 1896),the Presidential Palace, the Academy, the University, the National Library,the Temple of Olympian Zeus.

The tour ends with a guided visit of the Acropolis, the masterpiece of classical architecture.

THE ACROPOLIS MUSEUM

A marvel of architecture with a full exhibition of the glory of Ancient Athens.

It houses all of the portable objects removed from the Acropolis
Except of the Parthenon frieze, notable highlights of the collection include several statues and offerings from the Archaic Temple of Athena and the original Caryatids salvaged from the Erectheion temple (replicas are displayed on the original site).

ANCIENT AGORA OF ATHENS

The Agora was the heart of ancient Athens, the focus of political, commercial, administrative and social activity, the religious and cultural centre and the seat of justice.

It was located at the feet of the sacred rock of the Acropolis.

It is impressive indeed the thought that in this place promenaded Socartes, Plato, Themistocles, Pericles, Aeschylus, Euripides and many other important men, who determined the history and culture of all civilizations, of the whole globe !

THE NATIONAL ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM

The National Archaeological Museum is the largest in Greece and one of the world’s great museums.

It has more than 11,000 exhibits that represent the Greek civilization from the beginning of Prehistory to Late Antiquity.

It houses rich permanent collections, such as the Prehistoric Collection, with works from Neolithic, Cycladic and Mycenaean civilizations, the Sculptures Collection, with unique masterpieces from seventh to the fifth centuries BC and the Vase and Minor Objects Collection, which contains representative works of ancient Greek pottery.

It also houses the only Egyptian and Near Eastern Antiquities Collection in Greece, with works dating from 5000 BC.

ONE DAY TOUR TO DELPHI

Delphi was a site dedicated to the ancient God Apollo. We visit the temple, the stadium. the athenian tresor and the museum where one can see unique archaeological treasures such as the statue of the bronze Charioteer.

ONE DAY TOUR TO EPIDAURUS / MYCENAE

In Mycenae we visit the remains of the ancient city, the lions’ gate, the tomb of the king Agamemnon and the Palace. In Epidavros we visit the ancient theatre, famous for its remarkable acoustics and the museum.

THE TEMPLE OF POSEIDON AT SOUNIO

Cape Sounion is the southernmost part of the peninsula Attica !

It is dominated by the ruins of an ancient Greek temple of Poseidon, the god of the sea in classical mythology.

According to the legend, the king of Athens Aegeus, despaired when he saw a black sail on his son Theseus’s ship, returning from Crete, where he had killed the Minotaur, a monster that was half man and half bull.
By a fatal coincidence Theseus had forgotten to put a white sail which was the sign that he was alive.
Aegeus thought that his son was dead and he killed himself by falling to the sea from the cliff.
The sea is called Aegean sea after his name

The sunset from Sounion with the magnificent views and unique colors of the Aegean, is one of the most spectacular in the world.

MUSEUM OF GREEK MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS

The Museum of Popular Instruments – Research Centre for Ethnomusicology comprises the collection of about 1200 Greek popular musical instruments dating from the 18th century to the present day.The Museum is housed in a Mansion, which was built in 1842 close to the Roman Agora.
